I rented a Budget car through carrentals.com on 07/17/2016 for 2 days Saturday July 23rd, 2016, 08:00 AM to Monday July 25th, 2016, 08:00 AM at cost 2 days @ $42.29 / day $84.58 Estimated taxes & fees $17.45 Total $102.03 as my fried was visiting me for the weekend, we had made some nice plans to visit the Mt Rainier and enjoy the weekend. Reserved a mini van and was quoted a price , mind you minivan is like a 3 times upgrade from a compact car. There was a change of plans as most of my co- travelers had made different arrangements. I arrived in Las Vegas and aske the counter agent to change my car to a subcompact car which should be cheaper. Beware. DO NOT USE BUDGET. If you have to, read the contract carefully, they will try to get you with unauthorized charges. I rented a car from Columbus, OH airport and declined additional insurance when I was asked. I was quickly shown the receipt and asked to initial, sign, etc. The column on the left showed the quoted rate of $183. We have strong reason to believe that in Salt Lake City Airport Budget station, Budget staff are playing scams on those customers in a hurry, or parents busy with their kids. We clearly stated that we dont need additional car insurance. Staff nodded and said OK and we signed every places pointed by him. What horrible service. One person working the desk and can't even give you the car you requested and received confirmation for. Mark this disaster company off my list.....

Dayton/Beavercreek Fairfield Commons Mall: Worst rental experience ever. Car covered in bird droppings. Vehicle inside was not clear. I have never before had such a terrible experience with a rental car company. I reserved a SUV (Jeep Cherokee or similar) a week in advance for a 10 day road trip with my 3 sons. They accepted my reservation, and ensured me they could accommodate my request. I showed up on the day/time stated, and NO SUV. In fact, NO cars available AT ALL. I've sent about a dozen emails to get Budget to honor the prepayment price quoted as I got error message advising that the system was down and that I should "proceed with reservation without prepaying". Plus the Website failed to offer local international airport as a drop-off option. More drama from Budget rental - reserved a full size car but was given a car 2 sizes down - but guess what - still charged is full size price! We caught their mistake and are getting it resolved - but seriously?! First the SUV debacle and now this. Horrible experience!

Oakland airport branch - waited in line for nearly 45 minutes only to be told the SUV we reserved a month ago wasn't ready. Then after waiting for 15-20 minutes was told they don't have one and tried to push us in a mini van. Decided to go with mini van only to be told they don't have one here but as soon as one comes in we will get it for you. 45 minutes later and still waiting. Customer service? Not so much.
